CERTIFICATE COURSES
PMR ACCREDITED COURSES IN WORKPLACE MEDIATION |
PMR
was the first in the UK to design and develop an accredited specialist
training in workplace mediation. PMR's courses are long established
and are highly respected as national accredited training for workplace
mediators.
This
six day certificate course gives excellent vocational skills training
for people to carry out mediation between employees. It is open
to individuals and organisations and has become the UK standard
for those wanting to become workplace mediators or those who want
to integrate the skills into their work role.
These
OCN accredited Certificate courses are run by PMR every year providing
professional training for those wanting core competency skills
training to carry out face to face workplace mediations between
individuals in conflict or who are experiencing difficulties in
working together.
Unit
One is mainly about the skills needed to carry out a workplace mediation
and Unit Two is about how workplace mediation can be used within
organisations and within personnel policies with case studies and
coaching/ role-plays on how to mediate complex situations.

Unit
3 'Workplace Mediation with Teams™' is now available as an
advanced Certificate training for all those who have completed Units1
& 2 (or equivalent).

How
long is the course?
|
This
training is six days in all. It comes in two units of three days
each with about one month's space in between each unit for assimilation.
Both units need to be completed successfully in order for you to
receive the award of the OCN Credit Certificate and the six days
of Units 1 & 2 covers everything required to be a qualified
professional workplace or business mediator with no need for any
extra training or assessments. Unit One (3 days) can be done on
its own with no accreditation as a good introduction. |
What
is the Accreditation? |
Units
1 & 2 will give you a nationally recognised Open College
Network (OCN)
Credit Certificate in ‘Mediation in the Workplace’
(at level 2 or 3). The quality of this training is thus assured
by external verification, and internal and external moderation and
assessment. This specialist course is unique and is only available
through PMR Ltd and is under copyright.

What
is the assessment? |
The
assessment requirements for OCN accreditation have been developed
over time to be as clear and as straight forward as possible.
Assessment takes place through written assignments about what
you have learnt each day of the course (termed 'Learning Outcomes'),
which you write up each evening, and by skills assessment through
the exercises and role-plays of unit one. While training in new
skills is hard work, it does mean that the assessments/accreditation
can be completed within the context and training of the course
itself. This Certificate course has been running for over ten
years, more than 400 people have succefully completed it and companies
and organisations worldwide recognise this PMR course as high
quality professional and vocational skills training.
No prior qualifications are required.
